Step 5 — Point Traffic at Your Staple IP¶
To start protecting real user traffic, you'll need to direct it to your staple IP. The most common ways:
- Update DNS — change the A record on your domain (or the relevant subdomain) to point at the staple IP.
- Direct connection — if your service is accessed by IP directly (e.g., game servers), update your client configurations to use the staple IP.
Once traffic starts flowing, you'll see live numbers on the Last 24 hours panel — inbound/outbound bandwidth, total packets, and packets blocked.
Next Steps¶
You're done with setup! Here's what to look at next:

- Dashboard Field Reference — Every field on the staple IP dashboard explained.
- Editing Your Configuration — How to change destination IPs and proxy modes after setup.
- Network Protection Firewall Rules — Define which packets are allowed through to your origin.
- Troubleshooting — If something isn't working as expected.
