Menu Options Reference¶
When you run gs-director, the interactive menu offers these options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1) Setup Tunnels | Establish (or re-establish) the GRE tunnel and routing rules. |
| 2) Teardown Tunnels | Remove the tunnel and routing rules. Use this to temporarily disconnect from GatewaySentry without uninstalling. |
| 3) Show Status | Refresh and display the current tunnel and helper process status. |
| 4) Update Configuration | Re-fetch the tunnel configuration from GatewaySentry. Use this if you've changed staple IP settings (e.g., Destination IP) and need Director to apply them. |
| 5) Reconfigure (change key) | Replace the stored Customer Key. Use this if you've rotated the key or are pointing Director at a different staple IP. |
| 0) Exit | Quit the menu. The background service keeps running. |
Exiting the menu doesn't stop the tunnel. Director's background task (Windows) or service (Linux) keeps the tunnel alive until you choose Teardown Tunnels or run
gs-director uninstall.
